About me
Hi, I´m Inês, maker and founder of SEIN fashion. I want to share with you a little bit of my story.
I am portuguese artist, born in Caldas da Rainha, and after many travels and having lived in different countries, fate made me come to Austria, where I now call it home.
I studied audiovisual media at ESAD.CR in Portugal, but soon realized I had a keen interest in costume design. Whilst it was fun and I learned a lot from that experience, I realised it didn't fulfill me completely.
Slowly I moved away from Film to work as a freelance costume designer.
In search for my passion, I realised what I really enjoyed was to create my own clothes. I already used to sew my own clothes, because I couldn't find an answer to my personal taste in conventional shops.
My style has always revolved around fun, comfortable and unique and above all it had to be sustainable. In 2018, I decided to take a step forward and launched my own brand.
About SEIN fashion
SEIN fashion (to be read as in german Sein) is my answer to colorful, comfortable, and the most important, sustainable clothes. Each piece is designed and handmade by me using second-hand towels and quality jersey, making each piece one of a kind.
I found the inspiration for my upcycling brand whilst reading "The Hitchhiker´s Guide to the Galaxy", by Douglas Adams. In it, the author said: " A towel is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have''. And what is the best way to never forget the towel? By wearing it!
By wearing SEIN fashion you will always be ready if you find yourself on a intergalactic adventure! And if that doesn't happen, here are some of the other advantages:
- In a public space and you can't find a way to dry your hands? Dry them with a towel T-shirt!
- Going to the beach but don't want to carry a towel with you? Dress it instead!
- Your glasses are smudged but you don't have a wipe with you? Clean them on your jumper!
- Are you having a stressed situation and you start sweating? Wipe your forehead on your hoodie.
The name SEIN is a pun of the letters of my name Inês, but it also alludes to the verb “sein” in German, which means to be, this is because my brand is not only a fashion brand, but also represents a sustainable lifestyle.

There is only one person behind SEIN. All the products are designed and handmade by me, with no third-party involved.
Upcycling
The products are made out of pre-loved fabrics, that are washed with very high temperatures before use.
